- Palomar Knot: This knot is used for attaching a line to hook and it is very simple in nature. This knot is considered as the most reliable and strongest fishing knot. Anglers also join a fly to a leader or tippet via this knot.
- Surgeon Knot: These kind of fishing knots are said to be a multipurpose fishing knot, used for joining similar as well as different size of loops. It is very easy to tie and has 100% breaking strength. Just take two lines to be held parallel and try to make an overhand loop. Bring the entire line till the end. Repeat this process and tighten the loop and trip the extra ends.
- Rapala Knot: This type of knot is used for connecting lures to the monofilament. These knots should be directly attached to the lures. These knots always give the best results because these are non slippery in nature. The lures which can be added to these knots are swivel or leaders.
- Clinch Knot: This knot is the simplest knot that is why this is the preferred fishing knots used today. Fishermen love this knot because it is not slippery in nature. It is very easy to use a lure for fishing via this knot.
